The month of February marked some exciting times on site for 1616 Center. Despite the snow and the extreme weather variances, the project remains on schedule with the completion of three major components.

DententionStructureWe installed an underground detention structure as part of the water management system. The Storm Capture™ System by OldCastle was installed by Moore & Seagle. This particular system allows the storm water to be detained and then discharged at a controlled rate. The system’s installation requires precise attention to detail piecing together a combination of many parts as you can see in the short video clip below.

Duke Energy was instrumental in the temporary relocation of power lines to help with the safety of the project, specifically the efforts of Erica Wallace with Duke Energy.

In addition, we went vertical! The structure’s shape is beginning to present itself with the erection of steel by Steel Fab and the pre-cast parking deck by Tindall Corporation. Click below for a short clip of the first column going into place.
