1616 Center Honored with a 2016 Vision Award

Mixed Use OfficeCharlotte, N.C. – The 1616 Center was honored by Center City Partners with a 2016 Vision Award for raising the bar on architectural design, street level activation and the market for extreme mixed-use.  The 1616 Center has led the wave of providing much needed office development and strengthening South End as an employment center and a more complete and balanced urban neighborhood.  The Axiom Architecture design features Class A office / retail space with elegant features including a pedestrian plaza with patio, modern finishes and artwork, a sky box on the fifth floor, and a six-story parking deck with 254 spaces. This property is located on Charlotte’s Rail Trail, a 3-mile “linear park” that engages the community with public art pieces along the trail.

The team honored for this project included: Beacon Partners, Centro CityWorks, Axiom Architecture, and Edifice.
