Huntersville, N.C. – A ‘first shovel’ groundbreaking ceremony was held today for Burkert Fluid Control Systems’ new multi-million dollar campus. The campus will feature a new 124,000-square foot facility and will be located on a 98-acre parcel of wooded forest and farmland in Huntersville, North Carolina. The facility is designed by WHN+ Architects and EDIFICE, Inc. will manage the construction with planned occupancy in March 2016.
Burkert plans to invest approximately $23 million and create 61 new local jobs over the next five years. The campus has room for additional construction as the company continues to grow to meet the market demands, including walking trails, a fitness center and use natural lighting and solar power where possible.
As a leader in fluid control technology, Burkert originated the first solenoid valve over 50 years ago and has kept innovating ever since. The Burkert type 2000 angle-seat valve, now 20 years young, was the first of its kind and has been often imitated, but never duplicated as a solution for tough-to-solve steam and liquid control applications. Today, Burkert continues in the quest to provide revolutionary customer-focused solutions controlling liquids and gases with the introduction of the Type 8905 Online Analysis System which strictly monitors the purity of process water before it is released back into environment and the upcoming Ozone Sterilization System, which uses patented sterilization process to guarantee sterility of connections in the pharmaceutical production process.
EDIFICE is pleased to be selected to participate in the growth of Burkert USA.
