Groundbreaking Ceremony | American Legion Memorial Stadium
As this exciting new project gets underway, our construction team of Edifice, Barton Malow, NJR Construction and Lil Associates II, joined Mecklenburg County for the official groundbreaking to kick off the renovations to the historic memorial stadium.
The 83-year old stadium’s makeover will include improvements to the field, concourses, seating, restrooms, etc. while preserving the historical features of the ticket offices and rock wall. The stadium is projected to have a 10,500 seating capacity.
Demolition is expected to begin shortly. Jenkins-Peer Architects and HOK are the architects.
