The future site of Mecklenburg County’s new MEDIC Headquarters continues to transform on the road to progress. In this video you will see the steel decking of the remaining structure has been completely removed. With the original decking now removed, we continue to assess the structure’s integrity and make structural reinforcements to the steel frame. This repurposed structure is intended to house the future administrative building. In some areas of the existing slab of this building, soil reinforcement and the installation of grade beams were necessary as well. The site work continues as we installed the stormwater and sewer utilities and began installing the curb, gutter and roadways. In addition, the footing and building pad for the administrative building addition is now completed as well as the building pads for the fleet maintenance and vehicle wash.
