ContainIt Build Blitz
Last week over the holiday break, a group of Covenant Day School students organized a ContainIt Build Blitz. Prior to, the students worked hard on the planning, procurement and logistics for the build blitz. Then in just two days the students completed the construction of one shipping container!
Converting shipping containers into homes for the Lakota Indians on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, the program was started in 2015. This build out marks the fifth shipping container converted with three containers delivered last May and the initial container completed in December 2015.
Our superintendent, Andy Simonds has been working with the students providing guidance with his industry knowledge since Edifice was introduced to the program in 2016.
