EDIFICE Elevates supports Beds for Kids

Our employees once again shared the heart and kindness of construction by spending an afternoon lending a helping hand to Beds for Kids.  After a quick tour of the Beds for Kids warehouse and a summary of its operations, Edifice employees went to work.  From delivering, unloading, and setting up furniture for a family in need, to unpacking storage trucks full of donated items, to putting together furniture that can quickly be delivered, our team definitely made an impact.

Thank you to everyone that participated.  Look for more EDIFICE Elevates opportunities in the near future.

The Mission of Beds for Kids – Provide beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need. In 2010, a group of individuals led by Daniel Fogarty & Tim Rowley, delivered a few furniture pieces to a family who had recently moved out of a shelter in Charlotte, and into a home. Realizing that this family was one of thousands who were moving into housing and were in need of beds and other essential furniture, the idea of Beds for Kids was born. In 2011, Beds for Kids officially became a 501(c)3 non-profit. Initially operating out of a 30’x10’ storage unit off South Blvd., Beds for Kids provided 282 beds to children and families in need. Fast forward to today, Beds for Kids serves almost five times that number of beds and essential furniture to our client families. We strive to serve thousands of children and their families each year. Though the number beds and furniture delivered increases with each year, so does the number of people we are still having to turn down. Without the support of our community, we would not be able to continue advancing our mission of providing beds and essential furniture to children and their families in need.
