This project consisted of the complete makeover of a 32,600sf existing library. The interiors were fully renovated, and some additional square footage created by enclosing a portion of the existing patios on the first floor (700sf), and infilling the second-floor structure above the entry vestibule (360sf). The interior finishes were replaced and library spaces redesigned to address core services and community needs. Sprinklers were added to the building. The site circulation was revised to add a vehicular book return at the exterior of the building. A new entry plaza, walk-up book return, children’s garden, and early voting north entrance was developed as part of the sitework.
Edifice constructed the original South County Regional Library in 1998.
