Mecklenburg County EMS (MEDIC) Headquarters Named General Contractor Project of the Year

At the annual Excellence in Construction awards gala, the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas bestowed top honors to Edifice and the Mecklenburg County EMS (MEDIC) Headquarters project as it was named General Contractor Project of the Year. This prestigious award recognized the “Best of the Best” in Carolinas construction from a pool of sixty-nine submitted projects. This innovative project combined all of the Mecklenburg County’s EMS services and facilities onto the same site and was built to serve as a model for future facilities.

Edifice also takes home Eagle Awards for Excellence in Construction in both the Industrial and the Church Categories

Metrolina Park  (also nominated for Project of the Year) is located in Charlotte and is a Class A, master-planned, state-of-the-art distribution business park with over one million square feet of buildings on a 95-acre site.

Brookstone Church, located in Weaverville, is a new 57,000-square foot, two-story church that includes a 1,000-seat high-performance auditorium/sanctuary that features exquisite views of the North Carolina mountains.

The Excellence in Construction Awards Program highlights the quality construction performed by ABC members and celebrates the outstanding successes achieved in the industry. Projects built by merit shop contractors who are committed to maintaining high-performance standards are central to this competition. Member contractors of all sizes and specialties are encouraged to submit their best work to be recognized for exceptional innovation and design, technical ability, safety, project management, and quality of construction.
