Mecklenburg County will host a subcontractor outreach event Thursday, Jan. 28, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Hal Marshall Center Auditorium, 700 North Tryon St. During the project information session, subcontractors can meet with General Contractors who will provide details on three upcoming County projects and can learn how to submit subcontractor bids on these projects. Edifice is pleased to be selected as the Construction Manager at Risk on the MEDIC Headquarters and Operations Facilities Relocation. At the outreach session we will be seeking to identify and pre-qualify Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBE), principal trade and specialty contractors to submit bids for furnishing labor, material, and equipment for this project. We welcome the opportunity to talk one-on-one with you and answer any questions you may have.
MEDIC Headquarters and Operations Facilities Relocation
The project, designed by ADW Architects, may include the renovation/adaptive reuse of an existing 120,000 sf industrial facility and the construction of a 40,000 sf two level facility. The entire facility will be renovated and reprogrammed for incorporation of all of MEDIC’s facility needs. Space needs include office areas for administration, training, finance, operations and support. Other needs include fleet maintenance, vehicle storage for ambulances and special equipment, logistics, warehousing and special operations. Special technology areas will be needed for a 911 call center and a dispatch communications center. Site work will include circulation, parking and storm water management for approximately 500 vehicles.
