Covenant Day School | September 2015
Project Update:
The Covenant Day School’s new High School has seen steady progress this month, which mainly includes underground storm and sewer work. We currently are working on the tie-in to the storm line which comes from under Covenant Church Lane to the side of the new High School. This new line will direct storm water around the new high school. One milestone achieved this month was the success of starting the sanitary sewer pump station. The old pump station is currently located in a portion of the new building pad and we are working around this area. The demolition of the old pump station will begin soon, allowing us to complete the remainder of the building pad construction. We are still awaiting for Duke Power to relocate the underground primary power feed for the Wilcox building. Once the utility company completes the work order, we will continue working on the other half of the building pad. Despite the obstacles, half of the building slab is prepared and scheduled to be poured.
Looking ahead, our next big task is steel erection. We are currently scheduled to start this work in early to mid October. Be sure to check back with us next month, as we capture footage of the first steel beam being placed!
The Fitness Addition has also seen progress this month. The roof is completed and the downspouts have been tied into the storm sewer. The doors, hardware and windows are all installed and the HVAC is running. The flooring will begin soon. We are on schedule to turn over this portion by October 1st.
