A new three-story, 31,000-square-foot facility with a 5-level parking structure, this project serves the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Central Patrol Division. The site consists of 1.2 acres, located between 5th and 6th streets, bordering the railroad tracks.
In addition to serving as the Central Patrol Division, this facility serves as a command center for any special events in Uptown Charlotte. Whether it’s a sporting event, holiday event, conventions, or any gatherings of large crowds, CMPD Central will be the department’s operations center. To accommodate for special event manpower additional parking and space have been added for vehicles, bicycle patrol, foot patrol, and special operations vehicles. The 3rd floor of the building houses one of CMPD’s special divisions. A large bicycle storage area and repair shop have also been included.
